Boo

AUCKLAND - Boo, Desexed Female Lop, approx. 2 yrs old, Vaccinated Filavac (Mar 24) Solo rabbit home sought.

Boo is the absolute dream when it comes to solo rabbits, and she will need to remain a solo bun as she does not get on with other rabbits. With humans she’s a loving, sweet, little smoochy girl. She runs to greet me every time I get home, she is always up for a cuddle (even likes to be held), loves her zoomies and binkies, is happy to travel and is not stressed in the least to be in a carrier and in the car, is so sweet and bubbly with everyone, and wants to be near people all the time. She really deserves the best home.

She is thoroughly and deeply loved, but she was returned to SPCA several times because she will not be friends with any other bun. I have 2 solo males, and have had rabbits for about 15 years, so I thought I’d give her one more try to bond. It’s been 7 months and she is still biting the boys and I have to admit defeat. This means I have to keep them all separated and they spend a decent amount of time in locked enclosures which is so unfair to all of them - especially her since she is younger than the boys and has more energy. So, I need to find a more suitable home for her because it’s what’s best for her even though my heart is breaking.

She was found wandering the Hunua Ranges and a good samaritan took her in and nursed her back to health (apparently she was quite unwell - underweight and needed antibiotics) before she could go to SPCA. Despite being dumped, she still loves humans and is so trusting. She doesn’t have any remaining health issues and got a clean bill of health at her last vet visit a few months ago.

She’s a curious and active girl so will need lots of enrichment & loves her tunnels, food puzzles, homemade toys, cardboard houses, etc. But, she’s such a good girl in that she has never chewed anything she’s not supposed to. She has full access to the house when it’s her turn out of the enclosure (including being free range overnight) and has never chewed anything she shouldn’t. I have a small balcony and she loves to sit out on it. So while she would need to be an indoor bun because she’s used to it and needs the company, it would be ideal if she also had access to a safe/enclosed outdoor space.

Her favourite thing to do is get head pats/rubs and will sit for hours if you are willing to give them! She literally booped my ankle as I was typing that.

As a bonus to her adorable personality, she is physically gorgeous as well. She’s a pure white mini lop with blue eyes. When the light shines above her, it goes through her ears, and her cheeks turn pink. It’s the cutest thing ever.

She’s on Oxbow pellets and I’ll give her some to take with her - especially if the adopters plan to switch her over to a different brand, I’ll be sure to give them enough for the transition. She also has a blanket that’s been hers for a long time and a cardboard pet house that she likes.

I’m happy to provide hay, toys, litter tray, etc. if the adopter needs any of it.

Being a solo rabbit, she’d need to be an indoor bun but also because she’s so friendly and needs the company. Ideally she would be free range 100% of the time if possible since she doesn’t misbehave and loves to stretch her legs and explore. Since she doesn’t mind car rides, and loves all people, she would be a great (short) road trip buddy and/or even taken to work if someone worked outside of the house.

I am happy to travel to deliver her to the right home. In a perfect world, I would love to be able to visit her occasionally. It wouldn’t have to be often, but even just a couple times after she is settled in to her new home. I want her to know that she is loved and it’s not her fault that she can’t stay with me. Also, I’ll miss her. I know this won’t suit everyone, and it’s not a dealbreaker for adopting her. But thought I’d mention in case it is possible.
