Hay Storage
Hay should not be stored in sealed plastic bags. It is best transferred to a storage tote that allows some air circulation. Dry airy places are the best places to store your hay - avoid extremely hot areas (such as conservatories) or humid, damp places.
"Get an old duvet cover and put the bale inside it , keeps all the hay in one place . If you don't have one you can get them cheap at op shops or K Mart etc . I put the bale in a duvet cover and then put a slice of hay in another bag for daily use" - Sally Gates
"I have a big old vertical bin that lives in the shed. Helps stop the wind from running off with it and I use a smaller box to move it inside the house" - Charlotte Whitehead
"I got a large black bin from the warehouse for $45 that fits half a bale" - Skylar Thomas
"I split my hay into 60L bins. Then take one in to the enclosure to add to all the hay areas. My bun loves me bringing it in and will often hop in to get out the good bits" - Rebecca Torey
